About Lillian Rose

A portrait artist with a deeper story to tell!
Lilli is a self-taught portrait artist based in New South Wales, Australia, living and creating among the landscapes of the Brindabella Ranges on the edge of Kosciuszko National Park. For over a decade, her work has centred on expressive charcoal portraiture, developing a signature style rooted in realism while expanding into mixed media that incorporates vivid colour and surreal, imaginative elements.
Her art reflects a fascination with both the seen and the often overlooked. Through detailed drawings and thoughtful compositions, Lilli seeks to capture not just likeness, but presence - the quiet, shared essence revealed through years of studying faces, particularly the eyes. In them, she began to notice something universal: a sense of connection and humanity that exists within everyone.
“I’m a portrait artist with a deeper story to tell. I think I have drawn so many eyes that I realised the thing looking back was the same in everyone. There is something beautiful about that. It is easy to miss the little things without art. I want to share the things that go unnoticed, the things left unsaid. We all have a story to tell. I aim to inspire us to share it.”
Blending realism with surreal design, Lilli creates work that feels both grounded and otherworldly. Her practice centres on storytelling, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the quiet magic woven through everyday life.
Lilli's work in now available at a number of local locations.
